Verse: 7 G D7 Then he proffered his fin and she took it— G Such a gallantry none can dispute— C While the passengers cheered as the G Vessel they neared D7 G And a broadside was fired in salute. Verse: 8 G D7 And they stood alongside the vessel, G When a life-saving dinghy was lowered C With the pick of the crew, G And her relatives, too D7 G And the mate and the skipper aboard. Verse: 9 G D7 So they took her aboard in a jiffy, G And the shark stood at attention the while, C Then he raised on his flipper G And ate up the skipper D7 G And went on his way with a smile.
